Hi, I’m Giacomo.

PROFESSIONAL CELLIST FOR WEDDINGS, EVENTS AND PERFORMANCES WITH A DJ

When we think of the cello, we often picture classical music, grand orchestras and romantic melodies. Giacomo Gamberucci knows that world inside out, but he has also chosen to explore many others. His journey reflects a curious musician, open to experimentation and able to move between different genres and musical languages without losing the identity of his instrument. This artistic freedom is exactly what makes him such an interesting presence on the MUSIC4 team.

Giacomo graduated in cello from the O. Vecchi Conservatory in Modena in 2007 and has worked with several European orchestras, including the renowned Arturo Toscanini Youth Orchestra. His strong classical training is the starting point for a journey that later took him in very different directions. In 2009, he turned to theatre, composing and performing music for monologues and readings alongside actors Mariano Arenella and Elena Ferrari. This experience deepened his connection with storytelling and with music’s ability to accompany and interpret emotions.

Over the years, he has collaborated with Australian singer-songwriter Scott Matthew, Max Manfredi, Gerardo Balestrieri and other leading singer-songwriters. In 2019, he worked with pianist and producer Peppe D’Onghia, reimagining several songs by Lucio Dalla as instrumentals alongside musicians who had shared the stage with the great Bolognese singer-songwriter. The project perfectly reflects his sensibility: taking a song deeply bound to a voice and lyrics and giving it a new identity through instruments.

Her career also includes an appearance in 2020 on the docuseries Allevi in the Jungle, distributed on RaiPlay and hosted by pianist Giovanni Allevi. Since 2017, she has also collaborated with musician Giuseppe Bonomo on a project dedicated to David Bowie, while continuing her artistic exploration through instrumental work and crossover between genres. Her musical journey moves effortlessly from orchestral tradition to rock, from singer-songwriter music to theatre, showing just how contemporary the cello can be.

And it’s precisely this quality that makes Giacomo a compelling choice for events, too. His cello can bring intensity and delicacy to a ceremony, add elegant melodies to an aperitivo, or take centre stage in a decidedly less conventional performance. Using samples and performing alongside a DJ, Giacomo can blend with pop, soul, rock and electronic sounds, bringing the character of his instrument into a more modern musical setting.

For MUSIC4, recommending Giacomo means offering something beyond the beauty of a live cello performance. It means having an artist with a story, a broad musical background and the ability to interpret the same instrument in profoundly different ways. A musician who can be refined, moving, creative and surprising, depending on the setting and the musical project we create together.

Because Giacomo doesn’t simply take the cello beyond classical music. He shows how many things it can become when played by an artist who never stops exploring.
